Complex IF Statements for Accounting Education – A Lecturer’s Poem

Abstract

Poetry and accounting are not often thought of as complimentary areas of higher education. The author argues that poetry has much to offer to accounting education, with its ability to support students to sit with discomfort, take risks, embrace creativity and develop nuance of thought. The future of accounting, in the age of Gen AI, is more human than ever before, and poetry has much to offer in this space.
