Abstract
In the drive towards sustainable manufacturing, extending the service life and improving efficiency of industrial equipment are crucial. Industrial equipment faces challenges of deterioration caused by wear, fatigue etc. effects. Effective maintenance is essential for minimizing the effect of these challenges. This research introduces an integrated model that facilitates the sustainable operation of industrial equipment through life cycle optimization. The model determines optimal maintenance schedules over life cycle by integrating multiple sub-models to analyze equipment. These sub-models include a reliability model to estimate deterioration, a cost model to evaluate the cost of maintenance scenarios, and a scheduling model to generate and select maintenance schedules that minimize life cycle costs while maximizing equipment reliability. By providing life cycle optimisation capabilities, this model supports the transition towards more sustainable manufacturing practices with minimized cost incurred.
