Possible role of iron in the restless legs syndrome

Abstract

The prevalence of RLS, as assessed by interview, was high in iron deficient (9/36) and rheumatoid subjects (54/151), compared with healthy individuals (10/79). Standard haematological parameters showed that RLS may occur in the absence of iron deficiency.
