Nonlinear pulse distortion in few-mode fiber

MacSuibhne, Naoise, Watts, Regan, Sygletos, Stylianos, Garcia Gunning, Fatima C., Grüner-Nielsen, Lars and Ellis, Andrew (2012). Nonlinear pulse distortion in few-mode fiber. IN: European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communication (ECEOC). 2012-06-16 - 2012-06-20.

Nonlinear pulse propagation in a few mode fiber is experimentally investigated, by measuring temporal and phase responses of the output pulses by use of a frequency discriminator technique, showing that self-phase modulation, dispersion and linear mode-coupling are the dominant effects.
